# How to add items with VIN no.

This article shows you how to add serial number items to inventory

You can have products that has the same product number, but with a unique **VIN number**. I.e. multiple of the same bike, that only differs on serial numbers.

You can create products with VIN numbers in three ways:

1.  **Add** a new product and under **Stock** select _Bike with VIN no._
    
2.  **Edit** an existing product and change the **Stock** to _Bike with VIN no._
    
3.  **Duplicate** an existing product (little icon in the list to the right of the product) and add a VIN no. to the duplicated product.

When you add a VIN number to a product you must delete the barcode, the system will automatically use the VIN number as barcode going forward.
