If you want a customer to pay an amount up-front or make a prepayment, the deposit is the only correct way to do this.
Deposits are used exclusively through our tickets, where there is a dedicated function to receive and register deposits from customers.
Procedure
Start by going to Tickets and create a new bike order.
Fill in the customer data as usual and add any items/products. These can also be added later if you wish.
After clicking Create, you will be able to add a deposit via the button located under Products on the ticket
Click on Deposit, enter the amount to be paid, and click Go to Payment.
Complete the payment of the deposit.
You can choose the payment method for the deposit at the checkout.
When the deposit payment is completed at the checkout, you can return to the ticket.
Here, the deposit will be displayed on the work order.
Note: It is important NEVER to delete the deposit directly from the ticket.
Read here how you can return the deposit.
When the customer picks up their items and needs to pay the rest, proceed as usual. Click Pay & Done in the ticket and pay the remaining amount at the checkout. It will now appear as shown in the example below:
Note: It is worth noting that the deposit is recorded as a sale and VAT must be paid on the day the deposit is made, not on the day the item is collected. This is according to the new rules on VAT for gift cards, vouchers, and deposits effective from July 2019.
